Image Quality Checker — Analyze & Optimize

Before publishing images on your website, ecommerce store, or social media, it's important to check that they meet quality and performance standards. Our image quality checker analyzes key metrics including file size, pixel dimensions, megapixels, aspect ratio, and provides actionable optimization recommendations.

Web performance experts recommend keeping image file sizes under 200KB for most use cases. Large images are one of the most common causes of slow page load times, which negatively impacts both user experience and Google search rankings. Use this tool to identify oversized images, then use our Image Compressor or Resizer to optimize them.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the quality score mean?
The score (0–100) reflects how well-optimized the image is for web use, based on file size, resolution, and format. A score above 80 is excellent.
What is a good image resolution for websites?
For full-width hero images, 1920×1080px is standard. For product images, 800×800px to 1200×1200px is typical. Larger is not always better — file size matters more.
What is megapixels?
Megapixels = width × height ÷ 1,000,000. A 1920×1080 image is about 2.1 megapixels. Higher megapixels means more detail but also larger file sizes.
